Brooke is inspired by the architecture of Brooklyn. This iconic neighborhood's identity is primarily marked by its industrial material aesthetic. In the 1800's many of the borough’s newest immigrants found work in the factories that opened along the waterfront and in the new Navy Yard. Most of historic brownstone Brooklyn really is made out of brick. Sometimes the bricks are classic terra-cotta, sometimes white, or golden yellow, grey, black, or even purple.
Terra-cotta can suggest great age and majesty, as well as a classic vision of home and hearth.
